GoNanas Cinnamon Roll Banana Bread Muffins Review
I spotted this brand at the grocery store and immediately felt intrigued. Banana bread is my favorite kind of bread, so when I saw banana bread mixes in fun flavors, I had to try them. Between simple ingredients and a very enthusiastic toddler helper in the kitchen, these muffins disappeared faster than I could count.I would say this week’s Muffins of the Week was a clear winner.
I spotted this brand at the grocery store and immediately did a double take. Banana bread is my favorite kind of bread, I'm not kidding one year I had a banana bread loaf instead of a birthday cake. So when I saw a banana bread mix brand doing fun flavors, I was sold. Enter GoNanas. Who decided banana bread only has to taste like banana? Because this brand clearly did not agree, and I'm here for it. The flavors were fun and super unexpected so I grabbed a few bags and decided this would be perfect for my Muffins of the Week moment.
I bake muffins constantly because they’re just an easy snack, but now I do it strategically. I have a regular muffin tin for me and a mini muffin tin for Jameson. The mini ones are bite sized so they are easier for him to eat and make my life significantly easier, it’s a win win.
Another reason I loved this brand is how simple it is. Every mix starts with the same base: 3 bananas. After buying the mixes, I grabbed a bunch of bananas knowing full well we were not going to eat them all before they went bad, which made this the perfect excuse to plan a full muffin bake. The ingredients you add in are simple: bananas, maple syrup or honey, oil or yogurt, and a milk of choice. That’s it. We measured with our hearts because my toddler was helping, and it truly did not matter because they still turned out perfect.
I decided to try the flavor that intrigued me the most first, Cinnamon Roll. Banana bread and cinnamon rolls in the same muffin felt almost too good to be true. I filled the mini muffin tin for Jameson, which made over twenty mini muffins, and then baked three regular sized muffins for us.
Once they cooled, I left them on the counter. Jameson had five mini muffins on the first day. My husband had like ten. He just kept walking by and grabbing one. They are that good, I swear. There are little bits of white chocolate inside that surprise you in every bite and somehow make them even better.
What really sold me though was the brand itself. GoNanas muffins are nut free, vegan, and gluten free, which makes them great for a wide range of households. And my favorite part, it’s a woman owned business, that always gets bonus points from me! For anyone curious, the ingredients list for the Cinnamon Roll flavor includes gluten free oat flour, brown sugar, white chocolate chips, cinnamon, vanilla powder, baking soda, baking powder, sea salt, and natural flavors. Nothing wild or intimidating, and everything I can pronounce which I appreciate.
These muffins were easy, delicious, toddler approved, and honestly just fun. I can’t wait to try more flavors from this brand!
